SOPHIA ROGERS

Sophia Rogers is a Suffolk based artist, specialising in monochromatic portraiture, landscapes and one-off statement pieces.

Working solely in monochrome – usually black and white - Sophia produces paintings which are almost photographic in quality.

“By painting as true-to-life as I can, using only two colours, I am able to bring out a person’s personality, an atmosphere or create the sense of something living before you far more effectively than I could if I painted in colour. Monochrome makes the eye and emotions fill in the gaps that colour leaves behind.”
